Have you heard about Thaumcraft mod? You may have heard about this mod or it may be the first time for you to hear this mod. Well, this mod permits you to be able to use the magic around you in the form of ‘vis’ to perform different tasks and make fantastic items.
If you use this mod, it will add a lot of magical arcane blocks and items into your game. Even though the Thaumonomicon is the in-game ‘wiki’, but it does not cover everything. In this mod, you can draw magic from physical objects in the form of Essentia and reshape it to perform miracles.The first thing that you have to craft in this mod is a wand. And, the first one available to you is the Iron Capped Wooden Wand which is crafted using a stick and iron nuggets. Then, you have to put a bookshelf in the world and right click on it with the wand. It will give you the Thaumonomicon which explains almost everything else that you will need to know about Thaumcraft.
You are able to add all the ores, trees and other worldgen features to existing worlds by changing a few things in your config files. However, you need to remember that this could be risky so you have to make sure that you have to always backup your saves beforehand.
- If this is your first time loading Thaumcraft with that save, you are able to leave the regen_key setting as ‘DEFAULT’ otherwise set it to anything else.
- You have to select what to regenerate. It is strongly recommended for you to set aura_nodes to ‘true’ if this is the first time you are doing this. Without the aura, you will not be able to do 99.9% of the things you could in Thaumcraft.
- Now, you have to run the game. It will lag for a while and you will see some console spam about chunks being regenerated. You do not have to worry because it is fine. You just have to wait it out. It will not take too long. If the world had been explored a lot, you may be able to see the message which reappears every now and again. You need to note that this is also normal.
- If you want to do this again or somehow your save file got corrupted and your aura nodes have gone missing, all you have to do is set the regen_key value to something else. Then, any word would do.
