Minecraft Shaders Not Showing Up

You may ever trying to download shaders. You are sure that you are installing them right. You put the shader’s folder into the shader packs, but it is not showing up in game. What should you do?

In this article, we are going to explain the solution to your problem. If the Shaders option is not showing up, so you have to ensure to enable Optifine before launching. If you are using 1.15, there is no Optifine available. While if the downloaded Shaders are not showing up in the list, most likely they are required to be extracted.

Now, to fix your problem, you have to download and install Optifine in order to get them up and running. For your information, Shaders is not technically a mod. It is a graphics pack which is installed in a similar manner to texture packs. The shader packs are not supported by Vanilla Minecraft.

HOW TO USE SHADERS AND OPTIFINE IN MINECRAFT

STEP 1: INSTALL FORGE

When you do that, please check to see if you have a Forge profile in Minecraft. If you cannot find a Forge profile, you have to click the New Profile in the bottom left corner and create a profile named Forge. Then, you can select Forge 1.8 from the Release tab. Please hit save to create the profile. After you have the profile, run it once to ensure that it works.

STEP 2: INSTALL OPTIFINE

Now, you can go to Optifine and download the OptiFine. Please ensure that you do not download a different jar file, otherwise you are going to run into errors. After Optifine is downloaded, you need to run the Jar file. Please run it and it should install a profile. If you do not find the Profile, you can create one with the same process as you did with Forge. Then, you can run it once and ensure that it works.

STEP 3: INSTALL THE SHADERS

In this step, you will install a variant of Shaders. Please install the shaders and run it once. If it works, good job for you. While you are here, install these Shaders and then put them into the shaderpacks folder. For your information, the shaderpacks folder is located at C:\Users\*****\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\shaderpacks for Windows users. The easiest way to get to \Appdata\Roaming is by typing %appdata% into your navigation bar.

STEP 4: DO SOME TWEAKING

To get Optifine and Shaders work in Forge, you have to launch OptiFine and tweak some settings. There are some things you need to be disabled; Anti-Aliasing, Anistropic Filtering, Fast Render and Natural Textures. After those are all disabled, you are able to move on to the next step.

STEP 5: PLACE OPTIFINE AND SHADERS INTO THE MOD FOLDER

Please navigate back to Minecraft and look for a folder titled mods. If it does not exist create it in Minecraft. In this folder, you have to place the OptiFine jar. Then, you have to run Forge to see if it works. Please launch a single player to see if Optifine works. Next, you need to place the ShadersMod-v2.4.11mc1.8.jar into the Mods folder. After this is done, you can run both Optifine and Shaders together.
