According to Collins Dictionary site, a forum is defined as a place, situation or group where people exchange ideas and discuss issues, especially important public issues. It is important for you to know that forums are different from chat. It is because the forum is almost never live and it can be read at any time.
If you want to discuss something related to Hypixel Skyblock, you are able to access the Forums menu in the Hypixel Skyblock website. First, you are able to access Hypixel Skyblock website at hypixel.net and then you have to find the Forums menu at the top of the screen and click on it. Besides the Forums menu, there are also other menus including Home, Games, Leaderboards, Rules and Policies, Support, Store and Search.
If you click on the drop down button of Forums menu, you will see that there are two options including New Posts and Search Forums. If you want to know a new post of the forums, you have to click on New Posts, but if you want to find a specific discussion which has been made by others, you can click on Search Forums. In the New Posts menu, you are able to see a list of new posts in the forum. Even you are able to see the number of replies, views, and time of making the post. If you want to read one of the new posts in the forum, you can click on one of the titles of the posts in that list.
If you click on the Search Forums menu, you will be directed to a page where there is a form that you are able to fill to find a specific discussion that you want to read. In the form, there are some fields that you are able to fill such as Keywords, Person who posted it, Time of Post, Minimum Number of Replies, Prefixes, Search in what forums and the Order. You are able to fill all the fields, but you can also fill some fields or even only one field. If you have done so, you can click on the Search button and then you will be given a list of your search results.
When you visit the forum and then make a discussion or even want to give your comments on it, you have to make sure that you do it politely. Here are some things that you have to remember.
- You have to behave the same way you would do when you are talking to people in real life which must be polite.
- When you are creating a new post, it is better for you to create a short descriptive subject for the topic.
- You have to try to spell all words correctly and use proper punctuation.
- Do not write all caps because it makes you look like yelling.
- You have to respect all other members of the forum.
- Obey the rules of the forum.
