How to Enchant in Minecraft with Anvil

You have the chance to add powers to an item by enchanting it in Minecraft. Enchantments are able to be added to items  by using an enchanting table, anvil or game command. Now, how to enchant an item with an anvil in Minecraft?We will explain about it here.

If you want to enchant an item with an anvil, there are some materials that you are able to use. Those are:

• 1 Enchanted Book
• 1 Anvil

As you are able to see in the list of materials above, if you want to enchant an item with an anvil, you will need the help of 1 enchanted book.

Now, how to enchant an item with an anvil? You are able to follow the steps below.

• The first thing that you have to do to enchant an item with an anvil after you prepare the materials is to add the anvil to your hotbar. Then, you have to position your pointer on the block where you want to put the anvil. You will see that the block becomes highlighted in your game window. Do you know the game control to place the anvil? It depends on the version of Minecraft that you have. Here are the details.

1. If you use Java Edition (PC/Mac), you have to right click on the block.
2. If you use Pocket Edition (PE), you must tap on the block.
3. If you use Xbox 360 and Xbox One, you can press the LT button on the Xbox controller.
4. If you use PS3 and PS4, You have to press the L2 button on the PS controller.
5. If you use Wii U, you must  press the ZL button on the gamepad.
6. If you use Nintendo Switch, you can press the ZL button on the controller.
7. If you use Windows 10 Edition, you are able to right click on the block.
8. If you use Education Edition, you have to right click on the block.

• In this step, you have to use the anvil and you have to stand in front of it. Do you know what button that you have to press to use the anvil? Again, it depends on the version of Minecraft that you use.

• Now, your anvil is open and you are able to see the Repair & Name menu.
• Next, you have to enchant an item and you need an enchanted book and an item to do it. The item can be a weapon, tool or armor. In this tutorial, we will use an iron sword so you have to put an iron sword in the first slot and an enchanted book (Sharpness V) in the second slot. In the third slot, there will be the enchanted iron sword. To enchant the iron sword, it will cost 5 experience levels.
• You are able to move the enchanted iron sword from the third slot to your inventory hotbar.

If you follow the steps above, the sword that has been enchanted with Sharpness V will have attack damage of 12.25.
