Running your server in offline mode allows the players to connect without authenticating with the Minecraft session servers. You have to note that authenticating with the Minecraft session servers make sure that a player is connecting with a registered and paid Minecraft account.

Running your server in offline mode is able to be useful when there are the Minecraft session servers have issue and prevent the players from connecting. But, it present security risks because it allows anyone to use any username to join your server. For example, someone will be able to login as any white listed player, or as an op and then run all administrator commands. Due to the security risks of running a server in offline mode, so we only suggest it if you believe all players on your server and know exactly what you are doing. If you decide to enable it temporarily, you have to be sure to re-enable it and stop your server when you are not using it.


ENABLE OFFLINE MODE

  • At the first step, you have to log in to Command Center.
  • From the server list, you are able to select the server that you want to modify and click Manage.
  • After that, you have to click Files.
  • Then, you need also to click server.properties.
  • Now, you have to find the line which contains online-mode=true.
  • The next step that you have to do is to change it to: online-mode=false.
  • Afterwards, you are able to save the file.
  • The last, you are able to restart your server.

RE-ENABLE ONLINE MODE

  • At the first step, you have to log in to Command Center.
  • From the server list, you are able to select the server that you want to modify and click Manage.
  • After that, you have to click Files.
  • Then, you have to click server.properties.
  • You have to find the line which contains online-mode=false.
  • Then, you have to change it to: online-mode=true.
  • Now, you are able to save the file and restart your server.

For your information, the DynIP is an alternative IP address for your server which helps you to connect to your server directly. Unlike the regular IP, this DynIP changes every time you start your server. To find the DynIP, you are able to click on the “Connect” button on the server page while your server is online. Then, you are able to copy it and use enter it as the IP to connect to your server.
